Summary
The getaway Eagles, iberian wolf and european wildcat: Montaña de Riaño and El Taray in winter combines two of Spain’s best destinations for wildlife photography experience into a unique experience. During the first few days, we’ll explore the Montaña de Riaño, a prime location for spotting iberian wolf and the elusive wildcat, as well as other species typical of the Cantabrian Range.
The second part of the trip will take place in El Taray, where we will enjoy sessions from specialised hides for photographing large birds of prey, offering excellent opportunities to capture images of the golden eagle and other iconic birds. A trip designed for those who wish to combine mammals and birds in some of the best nature spots on the Iberian Peninsula.

Recommendations
For this getaway, telephoto lens of between 400 and 600 mmor an equivalent zoom lens (100–500 mm, 150–600 mm or 200–600 mm), which is ideal for photographing both mammals and large birds of prey from a respectful distance.
It is also advisable to bring a second camera body with a shorter lens for landscape and environmental photography, as well as spare batteries, sufficient memory cards and a tripod or monopod for longer sessions. As many sightings take place at dawn or dusk, a camera that performs well in low-light conditions is particularly recommended.
The excursions will take place during the winter, so it is essential to wear warm clothing suitable for low temperaturespreferably technical and breathable. We recommend dressing in layers, including a waterproof and windproof jacket, a hat, gloves and thermal clothing for the early hours of the day.
You will also need waterproof hiking boots with good grip and a comfortable rucksack to carry your camera equipment. Wearing neutral colours will help minimise our presence in the environment and encourage respectful wildlife observation.
