The getaway Bear, wolf and wildcat offers a unique experience for those who dream of photographing some of the most iconic mammals of the Iberian fauna. Accompanied by specialist guides, we will explore some of the most stunning spots in the Cantabrian Range, where we will search for the cantabrian brown bear, the iberian wolf and the elusive wildcat, whilst always respecting their behaviour and their natural habitat.
As well as large mammals, the rich biodiversity of these ecosystems will allow us to enjoy spectacular landscapes and spot other species of wildlife that inhabit the forests and mountains of northern Spain. A getaway designed for photographers and nature lovers seeking an authentic experience in one of Europe’s last great wildlife sanctuaries.

Recommendations
For this trip, we recommend using a telephoto lens of between 400 and 600 mm, or an equivalent zoom lens (100–500 mm, 150–600 mm or 200–600 mm), which is ideal for photographing wild mammals from a distance that ensures they remain undisturbed.
It is also advisable to bring a second camera body with a shorter lens for landscapes and environmental photography, spare batteries, plenty of memory cards, and a tripod or monopod for longer observation sessions. As some sessions will take place in low light, a camera that performs well at high ISO settings will be a great asset.
The excursions will take place in mountainous and woodland areas, where weather conditions can change rapidly. We recommend wearing technical, comfortable and quiet clothing, dressing in layers, and bringing a waterproof jacket and a windbreaker.
It is essential to wear hiking boots with good grip and to carry a comfortable rucksack to carry your camera equipment. Subtle, understated colours will help to minimise your presence in the environment and encourage respectful observation of the wildlife.

No. This trip is designed for both experienced photographers and amateurs who want to get started or improve their technique. Our guide will advise you during the sessions on how to make the most of the light, the birds’ behaviour and your camera settings.
What species will we be able to photograph?
The stars of this trip are the cantabrian brown bear, the iberian wolf and the wildcat, three of the most iconic and elusive mammals in the Iberian fauna.
Furthermore, during our field trips we’ll be able to observe and photograph other species typical of the Cantabrian Mountains, such as red deer, roe deer, chamois and foxes, as well as various birds of prey and woodland birds that enrich the biodiversity of these ecosystems. The presence of each species will depend on natural conditions and the behaviour of the wildlife in the wild, making every trip a unique experience.
