Wild Spain Travel returns from the Global Birdfair 2026 with new projects and great opportunities for ecotourism

Asturias and the Ecotourism Reserve: the focus of our participation

During the fair, our team worked hard to promote Asturias and the ‘Green Spain’ Ecotourism Reserve, two initiatives that generated a great deal of interest amongst visitors.

The Asturias stand continues to establish itself as a key attraction at the fair. As well as attracting new travellers keen to discover the destination, we were visited by numerous participants who had already enjoyed one of our trips and who wanted to share their satisfaction with us and recommend the experience to other nature lovers.

One of the main highlights of this year’s event was the ‘Green Spain’ Ecotourism Reserve, which was presented for the first time at the Global Birdfair. It was very well received, confirming the enormous potential of this project for those seeking birdwatching and nature experiences in northern Spain.

Over 120 people attended the talk on ‘Green Spain’

As part of the official conference programme, our technical director, Luis, gave the talk «A birding trip to the Green Spain Ecotourism Reserve», in which he presented a birdwatching route that takes in ‘Green Spain’ from the Basque Country to Galicia.

The conference brought together more than 120 attendees, who showed great interest in this proposed trip. At the end of the presentation, many people came over to the stand to congratulate us and ask for more information about the tour, confirming the growing international interest in birdwatching tourism in northern Spain.

New partnerships and future destinations

As well as showcasing our trips and destinations, the Global Birdfair is a meeting place for forging new partnerships with industry professionals.

This edition has been particularly productive for Wild Spain Travel. We’ve returned with new partnerships to continue promoting nature destinations in northern Spain, agreements with agencies and companies specialising in nature photography in Spain and the UK, and contacts that will enable us to develop new international tours over the coming months.

Among the future destinations we are already working on are countries such as Brazil, Sweden and Chile, as well as other projects that we will be announcing shortly.

We remain committed to the best in ecotourism

Our participation in the Global Birdfair 2026 reinforces Wild Spain Travel’s commitment to a model of responsible ecotourism, based on biodiversity conservation, the sustainable development of local areas and the creation of authentic experiences for nature and photography enthusiasts.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand, attended our talk or spent a few minutes with our team over the past few days.

We’re back with new ideas, exciting projects and the same enthusiasm as ever to continue bringing nature closer to travellers from all over the world. We’ll be revealing all the latest news very soon!
