Situated at an altitude of 1,050 metres on a hilltop set against a wooded backdrop. The hide is at ground level, so that birds of prey are at the same height as the observer, offering an unbeatable vantage point; it is an ideal spot for photographing large scavengers. From October to February, red kite roosts often form in the area, bringing this species to the fore. From November to April, snowstorms at lower altitudes can blanket the area for days. In such cases, the hide remains accessible and offers an exceptional setting for photography. From late February onwards, the first egyptian vultures may begin to appear; they become a regular sight in March and visit the site continuously until they migrate in September. From late August and throughout September, some young birds of the year may arrive, accompanying their parents. In spring, it is common for a black vulture to join the griffon vultures (present all year round) during visits to the feeding station. The golden eagle makes occasional appearances at this site in autumn and winter. Alongside the raptors, various species of corvids (crow, carrion crow, magpie) and the white stork are also present.
