A hide situated at the top of a wooden tower, 2 metres high, facing a stage next to a regular nesting site for a pair of roller birds. In 2019, the nest was occupied by a pair of little owls, which displaced the rollers to a second nest box. The rollers return to El Taray around mid-April, with the 20th being the date on which their stable presence in the vicinity of the nest is recorded on average. On occasions, the rollers have been photographed expelling the eggs from a spotless starling laid just the day before their arrival. From mid-April to mid-May, the breeding season takes place, with copulation and courtship displays frequently occurring on the perches closest to the nest. Egg-laying is completed by mid-May. The incubation period runs from mid-May to mid-June. During this period, the rollers regularly exchange food around the nest, and the non-incubating bird visits the perches in front of the hide from time to time. Visits increase significantly between mid-June and the first weeks of July as the chicks are being fed. In July, it is common for other roller families to suddenly appear in the vicinity of active nests, resulting each year in several sessions where numerous rollers are photographed from the hide.
