Other hides at El Taray Lagoon
This hide is situated on a small lagoon, amongst the reeds, with viewing platforms at water level. This means that when the Western Marsh Harrier come down to feed, you can capture striking photographs of the birds fully reflected in the water. Furthermore, if a dispute breaks out between two individuals, the splashes create some truly impressive images.
Western Marsh Harrier are present all year round.
During the winter, when the water level drops, you can photograph various reedbed birds from this hide, such as the Bearded Reedling, bluethroat, tree pipit and European Stonechat.
The hide features a large window, giving the impression that it is completely immersed in the reed bed and allowing the camera to be lowered to almost water level.
