Other hides at El Taray Lagoon
Hide, situated at the foot of the dovecote of the old shepherds’ cottage in El Taray. The ruins of the old, dilapidated buildings provide a refuge for a pair of little owls, which regularly visit the feeding station located in front of the hide.
The feeding station, in turn, attracts various species commonly found in the surrounding open countryside.
From November to February, it is mainly used for photographing Iberian Grey Shrikes with various prey or, from 2025, for night-time sessions using artificial lighting and flashes.
April to June marks the peak of the little owl’s breeding season.
From July to September–October, it is mainly young little owls that are photographed.
